A Couple's Vision Trip

Aug 14, 2010

This afternoon we had lunch with a family who were out here from Ohio, US on a vision trip. They are considering moving out here as full-time missionaries with their 5 children. They wanted to meet with us since technically they would be coming over when we are the Volunteer Coordinators – a big realization that this actually happening! They wanted to just hear our thoughts, share their hearts and pray together. We shared with them what others have shared with us: you might have the calling, but its got to be the right timing. And then we also all realized that if they are going to do it, they will have to do it as a complete family. That God would have to have 7 perfect puzzle pieces for them to fill here. I know that they are still only starting to hear the calling, but it would be amazing to have them out here with us. So we’ll pray to see what God wants to do in and thorugh them – how exciting to be able to be a part of that?

Job Shadowing Begins

Aug 10, 2010

We’re beginning an intensive “shadowing” period with the current Volunteer Coordinators at Living Hope, Mike and Pam. Essentially this training will give us a better understanding about what a ‘day in the life’ actually looks like for the Volunteer Coordinators. It’s a lot of information to take in – we keep telling each other to be “sponges”! – but we are so grateful for the opportunity to learn while Mike and Pam are still here. They have done an amazing job over the past few years to build the foundation for volunteers at Living Hope. Thank you Mike & Pam!

Our New Home

Aug 9, 2010

Actually, we won't be moving in till later this month, but today we are happy to officially call some place “home” for the first time since January this year. What joy it is to finally have closets in which to store our clothes! We can’t wait to finally put away the duffel bags and suitcases. The Lord has blessed us with a 3-bedroom house for the same (and less) rent price as a 2-bedroom apartment/flat. What’s more, it’s walking distance from Living Hope headquarters! We know that this house is going to be used to host many people passing through and can not wait to see how God is going to use us in it!
